The hooker from Biloxi Blues?

Maybe she can get together with Jenna Jameson.

Competitive race? The 2nd place finisher is a former actress, Richard Mulligan’s nurse in Empty Nest.

The hooker from Biloxi Blues? You think that’d be enough to beat a gay basher in a Dem primary. The TN Dem party is saying he only won because he was listed 1st. Another Alvin Green, it seems. Potentially juicier—given all the gay issues going on currently.

I didn’t have time earlier. I looked up a few things about Mark Clayton, the winner of the Tennessee Democratic Senate primary. He was one of those perennial candidates. Apparently it was sort of a random fluke that he won the primary, because from the reports I’ve seen, the voters didn’t know all that much about who was running. He was a member of an anti-gay hate group, Public Advocate of the United States. Their home page includes nonsense about “gay muppets” and “pro-homosexual socialist dictators.”

looks like the Democrat senate nominee is being disavowed by the party

Yes he is.

Fairly interesting, since it looks like he won the nomination fairly easily in a competitive primary?

And since we’re far removed geographically, and neither of us know much about what was going on in that primary, I doubt either you or I would be able to glean much from it. Perhaps Mule Rider has some more local insight to contribute?

Guess Obama endorsing gay marriage wasn’t a winner everywhere.

Did you expect it to be? I sure didn’t. I bet President Obama didn’t, either.

And in Tennessee’s answer to Orly Taitz, looks like the Democrat senate nominee is being disavowed by the party. Apparently he works for a firm that has been labeled a hate group for being very anti-gay. Fairly interesting, since it looks like he won the nomination fairly easily in a competitive primary? Guess Obama endorsing gay marriage wasn’t a winner everywhere. Where have you gone Harold Ford Jr?

wonder how much voters consider their other senator when voting.

I suspect it’s very few.

Before I respond to this…define “embattled incumbent”.

Pretty much the ones in the races you cover (Nelson, S. Brown, Tester, McKaskill). Granted there are incumbents that are much stronger than I would expect (Casey, Manchin, Klobachar). But with retirements already above average and if those incumbents do stay “embattled”, 2012 still shapes up to be a major house cleaning year.

Anyway, wonder how much voters consider their other senator when voting. Maybe
voters in MA would be more likely to keep Scott Brown if John Kerry were
more liberal? Maybe Tommy Thompson would be polling better if Ron
Johnson wasn’t so conservative? Maybe Mack would have a better chance if
Marco Rubio wasn’t so conservative? Not sure if voter think on this
“balnce the ticket” level.
