How is that "concern trolling"? Seems a like a real concern. Obama desperately needs to turn out the non-voter. They voted in 2008. Most every poll I've seen with him winning is based on a significant Democrat turnout advantage. Nate notes this in the likely voter model disparity. What am I missing here?

They are having to retire older satellites, but funding for replacements is iffy.

And when the older models stop working, and there are no replacements, Republicans will loudly and proudly proclaim, "You see??!?! Gubmint doesn't work!"

And just how do the Republicans know that a hurricane's path will likely drench Tampa? Because of weather satellites, up there because of federal government funding, that's how. I was speaking to a NOAA meterologist earlier this week. They are having to retire older satellites, but funding for replacements is iffy.

Those living in hurricane alley have come to depend on these computer models, which are amazingly accurate.

An interesting lesson in the role of gender in political coalition building drawing on 2008 and the Clinton/Obama rapprochement. This is what Romney has to attempt, but in a male dominated party, may be unable to accomplish. There is a cruel irony in that fact, if true, given his parties approach to gender politics.

With the new Post-Dispatch poll in Missouri, I feel more confident that SurveyUSA and Rasmussen, who both have been noisy this season, are the outliers. Today's Philadelphia Inquirer poll is in line with the trend.
