I’m sure most all of you’d disagree, but it’s damn near impossible to stomach listening to Obama or anyone else from his administration anymore for all the lies, BS, spin, and distortions they’ve come up with the past few years.

It’s hard to take any of you seriously when go on and on about this crap because you’re all just a bunch of GD sheep just following a completely different wolf.  You’re no better — and in many respects are worse — than the asswipes that make up most of the GOP.

You’re just myopic, extreme, and delusional from a different worldview.  But it makes you no less myopic, extreme, or delusional.  Get a life, for crying out loud.  No wonder you’re all a bunch of government-sucking titty-babies.  You spend all day, every day obsessing over this shit (politics and all things political).  No friggin’ wonder you all make me think of a cat sliding down a chalkboard with claws extended.

Shame on you, you ideological whores.  Shame on the whole bunch of you.

Thanks ever so much for covering the affair, folks.  I couldn’t have stomached 30 seconds of listening to any of it.

I’d like to say, though, that you (and everyone else I’ve read) are wrong about the whole “we built it” meme.  The right wing (as personified, although, given the lack of self-awareness displayed, that may not be the correct term, by the Republican National By God Convention) is not in any way disputing that federal subsidies, grants, and loan guarantees helped pay for the infrastructure that businesses rely on.

No, they agree completely with that fact.  What they then pounce on is the fact that, as the wealthy “job creators” pay the majority of income taxes, they supplied the money to pay for those subsidies, grants, and which backed the loan guarantees.

Which is, of course, an example of maximal hypocrisy, since, if they had their way, they would lower the taxes they pay (which are already at historically low levels — levels so low that revenues do not come near to paying for new expenditures in the way of subsidies, grants, and loan guarantees even to maintain current infrastructure, let alone improve on it).

So the whole “we built it” isn’t a mind-boggling denial of the reality of collective action — it’s a mind-boggling exercise in collective hypocrisy.  Yes, you got that right: it’s a collective effort in hypocrisy on the part of the “individualism” party.

Chris Matthews just had, IMO, the best line of the night (well, after Treme’s “lipstick joke :-) )

He was talking about how he remembers all the votes Ryan has made, and his congressional record which is so much at odds with the things he said tonight and the positions he now takes. Matthews said it reminded him of an old joke from high school… “I knew her before she was a virgin.”

Samantha Bee’s interviews with Republicans regarding the conflict
between the official platform and Romney’s opinion on exceptions for
Rape/Incest were delightfully ironic.

I loved how some of the delegates had trouble avoiding the word “choice”.

I do think Condi’s speech was far better

Everyone who wasn’t merely clamoring for red meat would find Condi’s speech better. She delivered better…though Ryan has this way of looking into the camera and lying with amazing sincerity. Her speech was more uplifting, but she didn’t have to hew to the VP rules. Who knows what an unshackled Ryan speech would have been like?

I think Josh Marshall reads Logarchism:

On optics and on motivating the audience, a good speech. The convention
was pumped for Ryan considerably more than for Mitt. It was also a
speech of astonishing intellectual dishonesty — on small things, like when plants closed; and much larger things like the entire economic trajectory of the last three and a half years.

@DC

Are you watching the Daily Show? Samantha Bee’s interviews with Republicans regarding the conflict between the official platform and Romney’s opinion on exceptions for Rape/Incest were delightfully ironic.
