No idea why. The comments section (including comment box) would act like one big link when clicked on. On my old phone, a Nokia Symbian with Opera Mini clicking would result in the page being reloaded. Now on a Samsung Galaxy with Opera Mobile and it all glows blue like a link when clicked, but nothing happens. Sorry to hear Disqus is so costly.

I'm glad you like it, but we will have to go back to the old way after the election. Disqus isn't free for us (actually, it's pretty pricey).
