As a platypus, I’m simultaneously a very complex and simple creature. And that means I watch the nation in both a complex and simple way. So it makes this platypus particularly pleased when someone comes along with something that makes the complex seem simple.

Monotreme– Mr Blodget did a masterful job of simplifying and story telling. I think the chart about 7/8’s of the way down tells a story within his story.
The chart introduction is: “This has led to an explosion in the pay of CEOs and other senior execs and investors relative to average workers”. It shows how CEO compensation has exploded, padding the pockets of the top 1% and diverting corporate profits away from stockholders.
This shows one more way the 99% are preyed upon as we are forced to put more and more of our retirement into the stock market via 401(k) and IRA plans.
