It’s as if the Goop senate side isn’t working with the Mittins moderation pretense script.

There are several answers.  First, it’s Indiana.  Indiana is the state that gave us Dan Quayle, remember.  The voters of Indiana have, for reasons that have never been clear to me, a long tradition of voting against their own self-interest.

But also, part of the reason is that they’re right next door to Chicago, and, like a brush with cowpox lends immunization from smallpox, there has been a revulsion for Democrats that has developed in that region.  The same thing holds in western Michigan and in southeastern Wisconsin, for example.

Why? (Not snark, serious question.)

Verrrry interesting. Sadly, I think Mourdock is still going to pull off a victory.

Romney just cut endorsement TV spots for Murdock the Morlock this week.  We can only hope they’re running now.

Obama’s 20 page plan came out this AM.  It has graphs!  and numbers!    and ideas!

Much as I would love for Ipsos to be correct, they’ve been showing a Democratic lean this cycle. Still, the map is very pretty for Obama, but I see it as a bit of a best-case rather than the likely case.

I think your Senate picks are a little more optimistic than mine would be, but I do hope you’re right, especially on the close ones!  My guesses would be closer to Michael’s, though I split the difference between the two of you on Nevada. Like you, I don’t trust the polls there, but that doesn’t mean I’m ready to give it to Berkley. Current polls are showing 5 points in favor of the Republican, which is a pretty strong result this late in the game. However, I think Nevada is on the toss-up side of leaning Republican due to the historic polling tendencies and the early voting results, especially the high turnout in Clark County so far, both of which shift things back towards the Democrat. It will be interesting to see what happens!
